How Does Invisalign Work?

The plan involves a series of invisible aligners that gradually move the teeth until they reach the predicted final position.
Each aligner applies gentle, controlled force to specific teeth.
Once the teeth move to the planned position, the patient switches to the next aligner.
Thanks to digital technology, it is possible to preview how the teeth will look at the end of treatment and how the smile will change.
Once the treatment plan is confirmed, the Invisalign aligners are produced and delivered.
Aligners are provided to the patient during check-ups, usually every 6–8 weeks, when the dentist also monitors treatment progress.
The treatment is completely painless. The only essential condition is to follow the dentist’s instructions carefully and wear the aligners for the recommended number of hours each day and night.
How Many Aligners Are Needed and How Long Does Invisalign Take?
Since Invisalign treatment is fully personalized, there is no fixed number of aligners. The number of trays and the overall treatment time depend on each patient’s specific case.
Mild cases: about 6 months
Moderate to complex cases: 12–18 months or more
At the end of the treatment, retention strategies are evaluated to maintain the new smile.
